How to live stream a football match with a live scoreboard

Facts checked 22 October 2026

To stream a match with a live score, you need three things: a camera, a streaming app, and a scoreboard overlay that updates on its own. Use OBS Studio if you have a laptop at the pitch, or PRISM Live Studio if you only have a phone. Add the Dawrify overlay link to either one. The score, the clock, goals and cards then appear on the stream as soon as someone records them in the dashboard.

1. Pick your setup

Phone only
PRISM Live Studio, free on Android and iOS. The phone's back camera, about 5 Mbps of upload for 720p. Best for one camera and one person filming.
Laptop and camera
OBS Studio 32.2, free on Windows, macOS and Linux. A webcam, a camcorder through an HDMI capture card, or a phone used as a camera. About 8 Mbps of upload for 1080p. Best for finals, several cameras and commentary.

Whichever you choose, test the upload speed at the pitch, not at home. Use about two thirds of what you measure.

2. What the overlay shows

The overlay is a web page with a transparent background. You add it on top of your camera. It follows your tournament by itself, so you do not have to change anything between matches.

Before kick-off
A pre-match show with the two teams and their line-ups.
During the match
A scoreboard in the corner you choose, with the score and match clock, plus goals, yellow and red cards, substitutions, sin-bins and added time as they happen.
Half time and full time
The result, the scorers and the match stats.
Penalties
The shootout, kick by kick.

There are three designs (Dawrify, Primera and PL), and English or Arabic labels. Arabic mirrors the scoreboard to read right to left.

A short Dawrify strip appears on the scoreboard every few minutes.

4. Follow the tutorial for your platform

5. If the scoreboard isn't showing

Nothing at all
Move the overlay above the camera in the Sources list. In PRISM, check that the Web widget is turned on.
A small DAWRIFY message instead of the score
Read it: the link was revoked or has expired, or there is no fixture yet. Check the link's status in the Streaming tab and create a new one if needed.
The wrong match
The link is pinned to one fixture. Create a link set to "Follow the tournament".
The score is late
The overlay is as fast as whoever records the score. Have that person at the pitch with a phone.
The scoreboard is blurry
Set the source to the canvas size (1920 × 1080, or 1080 × 1920 for portrait) and change the size on the setup page, not by stretching.
A solid background behind it
Remove any custom CSS in the OBS source, and use the overlay link, not the setup page link.
The stream keeps dropping
Lower the bitrate or switch to 720p.

Questions

Can I stream a football match from my phone with the score on screen?
Yes. Install PRISM Live Studio, add your Dawrify overlay link as a Web widget, and go live to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or any platform that gives you a stream key.
Do I need to update the score on the stream myself?
No. You record the match in the Dawrify dashboard or app as usual. The overlay reads the same match and updates on its own.
Can I stream to YouTube and Facebook at the same time?
Not from a single OBS output. The simplest way is two setups, each with its own overlay link. Create a separate overlay link for each one.
Is OBS Studio free?
Yes. OBS Studio is free and open source, for Windows, macOS and Linux. PRISM Live Studio is also free to download.
